The Dahanu Road Janata Co-Operative Bank Limited, is a leading Co-operative bank in Dahanu. Having a network of 4 branches spread all over Taluka Dahanu. Bank is continuously in profit over the last many years.
Bank is giving traditional retail banking service to all customers. Bank has developed banking technology to enhance customer Services.
In the true spirit of Co-operative bank, it is always extending its Customer Service to all category of society. Bank’s area of operation is mainly in rural sector of Dahanu. So besides limited infrastructure & technology bank has given helping hand to poor and middle class section of Dahanu Taluka.
History
Bank’s foundation was started on 13-07-1937. Dahanu’s renowned social activist in co-operation Late Shri. Khushmanlal Harilal Joshi with the help of Dahanu’s well known persons, leaders, businessmen started a small credit society “The Dahanu Co-Op. Credit Society” under the Chairmanship of Late Shri. Harmusji Khekhashru Irani. Inauguration was done by Advocate Late Shri. Achyut Narayan Khare at Building of Late Shri. Mayar Nasarvanji Irani. Initial authorized share capital of society was of Rs. 25,000/- and the founder members were more than one hundred (107).

The Foundation
Late Shri Khushmanlal Harilal Joshi served as Honorary Secretary from 1937 to 1942. Area of operation of society was limited upto 7 miles of Dahanu. Thereafter, Late Shri. Navnitlal Harilal Munshi served as Honarary secretary from 1944 to 1965. He served for 21 years for development of institute. During his tenure & his efforts credit society received the Banking Status in the year 1957. Since then “The Dahanu Road Janata Bank Ltd.” is giving banking services in rural area of Tal. Dahanu.
